외국인 유학생의 학업계획서 첨삭 요청

지난 5월 25일, 미얀마 출신의 유학생이 서강대 경영학과 일반대학원 경영학과 대학원 지원을 위한 학업계획서 첨삭을 요청하셨습니다.

On May 25, an international student from Myanmar asked for an academic plan to apply for Sogang University's business administration and general graduate school.

이전에 혼자 힘으로 글을 작성하고 이화여대, 서울대 지원하였으나 계속 불합격해서 자신감이 없는 상태였다고 합니다.

컨설팅 과정

문제점1) 챗GPT 사용

지피티를 쓰면 자주 나오는 표현이 계속 보입니다. 평가자는 AI를 활용한 학업계획서는 매우 낮은 점수를 준다는 사실을 기억하세요!

Problem 1) Using ChatGPT

When you use GPT, the expressions that often appear in GPT are constantly visible to the evaluator. Remember that evaluators give very low grades to academic plans using AI!

 

문제점2) 단순 나열식 글 구성

학업계획서에서 가장 중요한 것은 '본인의 경험과 성장과정이 지원한 학과와 얼마나 연관성이 있는가?' 입니다. 단순히 지원자가 경험한 것들을 늘어놓기만 한다고 좋은 글이 될 수는 없습니다.

Problem 2) Simple listable writing composition

The most important thing in the academic plan is 'How related is your experience and your growth process to the department you applied for?' Simply laying out the experiences that the applicant has experienced can't be a good piece of writing.

 

개선점1) 소주제로 가독성 높이기

2000~3000자가 넘는 글의 전달력을 높이려면, 소주제를 사용하는 것이 효과적입니다. 자신이 하고 싶은 말을 요약하면서 임팩트 있는 소주제를 만들어 드렸습니다.

Improvements 1) Subheadings to increase readability

In order to increase the delivery power of more than 2,000 to 3,000 characters, it is effective to use subtopics. I made an impactful subtopic summarizing what the applicant wanted to say.

 

개선점2)지원자 경험과 전공간 연결성 강화

'학과 적합성'이 포인트입니다. 본인이 갖춘 역량이 대학/대학원 입학 후 어떻게 발휘될 수 있는지 설득해야 합니다.

Improvements 2) Strengthen connectivity between applicant experience and application major

"Conformity with the department" is the point. You need to convince them how their competencies can be exercised after entering college/graduate school.

 

개선점3) 지원 대학 분석을 통한 맞춤형 첨삭

강선생은 지원한 대학, 학과 정보를 충분히 탐색하고, 꼭 들어가야 할 커리큘럼 및 학과 정보, 인재상을 인용합니다.
